Is America's Day of Reckoning at Hand?

Are America's best days behind it? Is our country sliding toward the dustbin of history? Leading national commentator Pat Buchanan warns that the answer to those questions is yes.

In his new book, Day of Reckoning, Buchanan says America is on the path to national suicide.

The former advisor to three Presidents says the era of U.S. global dominance is over.

Buchanan says the U.S. army is breaking under the strain of Iraq and Afghanistan.

He accuses President Bush of leading America to a strategic disaster overseas, through a utopian world view that seeks to democratize the world.

Here at home, Buchanan says a culture war has broken down society along class, ethnic and racial lines, while what he calls , "the worship of a free trade," has destroyed the dollar.

And what he terms "the greatest invasion in history," unchecked illegal immigration from Mexico and other third world nations, is, according to Buchanan, a graver threat to our national survival than anything happening in Iraq or Afghanistan.
