Jeremy Sisto in National Geographic

For the next seven weeks, National Geographic's taking TV watchers into the Iraq war.

Based on ABC chief correspondent Martha Raddatz' New York Times best-selling book (by the same name), The Long Road Home (rated TV-MA) follows the true story of how the 1st Cavalry Division fought for their lives on Black Sunday (April 4, 2004) when they were ambushed in Sadr City, Baghdad.

Promoting tonight's two-hour premiere, airing on Nat Geo at 9 pm (ET), The Long Road Home released the following featurette, which shows never-before-seen clips from the anticipated miniseries as one of the main characters prays to God for mercy and protection. Check it out!
