Reaching Youth Through Jesus Global Youth Day

REACHING THE LOST
Global youth culture from the West is making it increasingly difficult for Christian leaders around the world to reach their youth leaving youth leaders frustrated. Ron Luce explains, “The rate of change in the world (knowledge in every sector doubling every year...provoking innovation...much of which is affecting youth now....is social media, virtual reality, porn, etc.) is making it more difficult to reach them for Christ.” To get the younger generation to engage with the Gospel message, Ron is hosting Jesus Global Youth Day (JGYD), the world’s largest summit of global church leaders and youth coming together to find new ways to reach the next generation for Christ. This will happen in Manila, Philippines from August 8-10.  Ron feels an urgency to reach the 1.8 billion youth of the world for Christ.  He explains, “What many youth leaders are doing isn’t working — and our churches are aging as a result. To truly make an impact, we need to look outside our immediate community -- even outside our own country -- to see what is actually working.” At the event, youth leaders will meet during the day to strategize by asking questions like:

  • How do we get the youth in our community to engage with the church?
  • Are we reaching out to the youth around us effectively?
  • If our church disappeared, would the youth in our community even notice?

At night, the focus will be on reaching and teaching young people. Jesus Global Youth Day is more than an event. It’s the launching of a global focus for the Church to effectively pass the baton of the gospel to the next generation. Guest speakers and artists include: Nick Vujicic, Lecrae, and Planet Shakers with more to come.  Check www.JesusGlobalYouthDay.com as more are added.
