Hillary Clinton: We're Winning the Popular Vote

05-20-2008

Hillary keeps on churnin'. Tonight she told supporters that she's winning the popular vote. Umm.the Obama campaign may have a thing or two to say about that. Anyhow read a portion of her speech below:

"This is one of the closest races for a party's nomination in modern history. We're winning the popular vote and I'm more determined than ever to see that every vote is cast and every ballot counted. I commend Senator Obama and his supporters and while we continue to go toe-to-toe for this nomination, we do see eye-to-eye when it comes to uniting our party to elect a Democratic president in the fall."

Look, here's the deal: she's in this past June 3rd.

If Florida and Michigan don't get resolved at that May 31st DNC meeting then Clinton will fight even longer. But she has two problems. First of all, super delegates are moving towards Obama.

It hasn't been a jail break but a steady stream doesn't help. Also, she can't afford to "trade baskets" with Obama at this point. Winning Kentucky and losing Oregon doesn't get her much.

Her only hope?

An Obama implosion. Some sort of "May Surprise." Is it out there?

For Hillary it's the bottom of the 9th, two outs and nobody on. She's down to her last out. Maybe Jeremiah Wright will step to the plate?
