The Federal Trade Commission and Google have agreed to a $170 million settlement over allegations against YouTube, Google's website, for collecting kids' private data.

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act requires giving "notice to parents and obtain their verifiable consent before collecting their children's personal information online.
